Myths about hydrogen in transport: what is no longer true?

Hydrogen technology has advanced significantly in the last 5 years. What remains, however, are the stereotypes and myths that often hold companies back from deciding to test a new solution. Let’s break down some of them – and explain why they no longer apply.
“The hydrogen vehicle is just a prototype – nothing real exists yet”
✅ Not true. Hydrogen vehicles are actually in use today – including in Slovakia. For example, our tractor has already covered thousands of kilometres with real loads, in standard logistics.
🔍 What has changed? Hydrogen development has progressed to the practical testing phase – and it appears that many of the challenges have been solved technologically.
“We don’t have the infrastructure, so hydrogen is not worth tackling”
This myth used to be justified. Today, however, we can build local solutions: mobile bottlers, partner agreements, corporate hubs. No need to wait for a national network.
📌 Practical example: some of our partners operate their own hydrogen source on site.
“Servicing a hydrogen car will be expensive and complicated”
⛔ Incorrect. In fact, hydrogen vehicles have fewer moving parts than diesel vehicles. And therefore fewer failure points.
🛠️ In addition, modern service protocols already include hydrogen components. However, the technician has to be trained – just as was once the case with electric cars.
“Hydrogen doesn’t work in winter”
The truth is that winter conditions do not hinder the hydrogen system – on the contrary, heat is often a greater challenge for the cooling of the cell.
🌡️ We know from experience that our tractor has made it through the winter without a hitch – and we’re about to test it in the summer extremes too.
“This is only for cities – not for real freight”
Wrong. Hydrogen vehicles are ideal where electromobility is not enough: long journeys, frequent loads or when you need to refuel quickly.
🚛 We are testing them in normal freight transport – with containers, drivers and time slots as in classical logistics.
Conclusion
Myths persist, but technology is moving forward. Today, it’s no longer a question of “if” but “when and how” hydrogen solutions will be applied to your business. And that’s where we can help you – with a real-world test, without unnecessary risk.
